Our Mission

“To improve quality of life through the support and development of a robust and diverse voluntary and community sector willing and able to respond to local needs and issues.”

Gedling CVS fulfils this mission in a variety of ways.  Most importantly, through the five core functions of a CVS:

Development - identifying local need and working with others to develop appropriate action.

Representation – enabling the local voluntary and community sector to present its views to local authorities and other public agencies.

Liaison – developing and maintaining links with a wide range of voluntary and community organisations and the promotion of cross-sector relationships with local authority departments, the health authority and business.

Strategic Partnerships – enabling groups to engage in partnership work with other agencies to develop good networks, create solutions to specific problems and share resources.

Support - providing groups with access to a range of services eg information, funding, legal or constitutional issues, project management etc.
