The most important part of any CVS is each voluntary or community group, local business or supportive individual that makes up the membership of that Council.
It is the needs of those groups and the communities they serve which provide the mandate that governs the work the CVS does, and it is Gedling groups and communities from which the organisation’s Trustees are drawn.
Membership of GCVS comes at 2 levels: full and associate membership.
Full membership
Full membership is open to:
- Voluntary or community groups based in the Borough of Gedling
- Individuals over the age of 18 living or working in the Borough of Gedling who support the aims and values of the organisation
- Local businesses based in the Borough of Gedling which support the aims and values of the organisation
Full membership entitles you to:
- A free bi monthly copy of Community Eye and other copies if required
- Free access to training and information events
- Free access to CVS support services
- Free copy of Gedling Help Directory (when available)
- Entry in the Gedling Help Directory
- An invitation to have a voice in voluntary sector consultations

Nominate Trustees for the Executive Committee

Have a vote on matters relating to the governance of GCVS

Apply to the CVS Initiatives Fund

Associate membership
Associate membership is open to:

Voluntary or community groups not based in the Borough but which support the aims and values of the organisation

Individuals under the age of 18 living or working in the Borough and who support the aims and values of the organisation

Statutory/Public agencies based or delivering services in the Borough of Gedling and which support the aims and values of the organisation
Associate membership entitles you to:

A bi monthly copy of Community Eye plus additional copies if required, at cost

Access to training and information events at cost (under 18’s free)

Access to CVS support services at cost (under 18’s free)
