Gedling CVS works in partnership with NHS
Nottinghamshire County (the Primary Care Trust for the county) and
Nottingham North and East Consortium (the cluster or consortium of GP's
work collaboratively) to improve patient and public involvement and also
address local health inequalities.
New network
We launched the Gedling
Health Network in September 2009 and plan to hold quarterly
meetings for voluntary and community organisations with and interest in
health and social care issues.
Information about the network and news can be found
on our new blog - a website of information relating to the latest
opportunities and news from around health and social care.
You can view the blog at
Gedling Health
Network
The Health Bulletin
available from the news pages can also keep you up to date with local
developments.

Health Trainer
The
other significant development this year has also been the
roll out of the Health Trainer programme by NHS Nottinghamshire County.
We employ the health
trainer for the Gedling area. Her role is to:
-
Engage with
individuals in local communities which have identified health
inequalities.
-
Health trainers
give people support in making changes which are right for them and
can signpost to specialist services when
necessary. They help with keeping people
motivated by encouraging them to set goals and create action
plans for improving their health.
