Community Computer Partnership for Young and Old

U3A logoIn a win-win local community partnership, Carlton & Gedling U3A have combined with students from Carlton-le-Willows Academy to provide computer training for some of the U3A’s retired members who have no computer experience. For their part the students gain credits for the service aspect of their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards.

Core Centre Calverton – new activities

Core centre logoThe CORE Centre is located in Calverton.  The aims of the Centre are to develop local people’s employability, life skills and to enhance the life of the community through training, advice and other services. They have now joined a new partnership with the charity My Sight Nottinghamshire.  My Sight is a leading local sight loss charity organisation that will be holding regular advice surgeries at CORE.  If you, or someone you know, is living with deteriorating eyesight and would like to talk to someone, come along and visit this mobile support service, experts will be on hand to offer practical advice, demonstrations of equipment and emotional support.
